Chapter 139:5
Chanukah

5. Once a person has used an earthenware lamp on one night, it [deteriorates and begins to look] old, and therefore may not be used again, because it is disgusting ("ma'us"). For this reason, it is proper to have an attractive metal menorah. One who can afford to do so, should use a silver menorah to fulfill the mitzvah in a beautiful manner ("hidur mitzvah").
