7. If one erred in the summer and recited v'sain tal umotor, he should begin again from Boreich oleinu. A person who did not remember until after reciting the verse Yih'yu l'rotzon [at the conclusion of the Shomeneh Esreh] must recite the entire Shemoneh Esreh again.

8. [The following rules apply] Should doubt arise in a person's mind whether or not he recited mashiv horuach...: If this occurs more than thirty days after he began reciting that prayer, and thus he has already recited the prayer properly 90 times, we can assume that also, at present, he recited it properly. However, if the doubt arises within the original 30 days, he must pray again.

Similarly, in regard to v'sain tal umotor, if the doubt arose after one had already recited 90 prayers properly, we consider that the person has followed his established pattern of praying correctly. However, before he has established such a pattern, he is required to repeat the Shemoneh Esreh.*

* {According to the Mishnoh Beruroh (114:37),everything depends on the number of days and not the number of prayers. Therefore, though in 30 days one will have recited mashiv horuach more than 90 times (because of the musaf prayers of the Sabbath), the number of days is not reduced. Conversely, though in 30 days one will recite v'sain tal umotor fewer than 90 times (since that prayer is omitted on the Sabbath, 30 days are sufficient.}

9. A person erred in the evening service of the first night of Pesach, began reciting a weekday Shemoneh Esreh, and remembered in the midst of the blessing Boreich oleinu. The law is that he must conclude that blessing (as explained in Chapter 76). In this event, he should not recite v'sain tal umotor, because it is not recited by the congregation on that day.

If the day on which one should begin reciting v'sain tal umotor falls on the Sabbath, and a person erred and recited the weekday Shemoneh Esreh and also began the blessing Boreich oleinu, he should recite v'sain tal umotor. This decision was reached because the congregation had not as yet recited that prayer, and an individual must always follow the congregation.
