Chapter 20: 7-9
The Chazon's Repetition
7.After the chazon completes the repetition of the Shemoneh Esreh, he
should recite in a hushed tone the verse Yih'yu l'rotzon... However, he
need not take three steps backward for he may rely on the three steps he
takes at the conclusion of the complete Kaddish.
8.During a communal fast, when there are ten* people in the synagogue who
are fasting - and intend to complete their fast - the chazon recites the
blessing Aneinu in the morning and afternoon services [between the blessing
go'el Yisroel and] R'fo'einu.
* {The Mishnoh Beruroh 566:14 allows Aneinu to be recited if there are only
seven people fasting, provided there are three others who are prevented
from fasting due to sickness.}
[The following rules apply] should he err and omit this blessing: If he
remembers before mentioning G-d's name in the blessing rofe' cholei amo
Yisroel, he should return and recite both Aneinu and R'fo'einu. However, if
he does not remember until after mentioning G-d's name, he should complete
the blessing rofe' cholei amo... and recite Aneinu in the blessing shome'a
tefilloh.
[In such an instance,] he should conclude shome'a tefilloh as does an
individual [when reciting Aneinu in the hushed Shemoneh Esreh]. If he
forgot and did not recite it there either, he should recite it after the
conclusion of the Shemoneh Esreh, without concluding with a blessing.
9.The Shemoneh Esreh should not be repeated out loud unless there are six
men, the majority of a minyan, who have just completed their prayers. If
there are not this many, the Shemoneh Esreh is not repeated out loud;
rather everyone should pray as individuals. One person [who has not recited
Shemoneh Esreh as of yet], instead of reciting his pryers in a hushed tone,
should recite until the blessing ho'El haKodosh out lout, and Kedushoh
should be recited. Then he should conclude his prayers in a hushed tone.
