Maaser and Kollel Money

With regard to Kollel and Masser money,
One is obligated to give masser from any profit that one gets. This
does not necessarly have to come from a "real" job. The Halacha only
exempts one who does not have enough for two meals for himself, but if not
one must give masser.

[However, see Rafi Goldmeier's post in the last volume. Apparently, the
Rabbi of his Kollel believes that the amount given to each student is so
little as to be the equivalent of only providing for their next meal...
meaning they are exempt. Consult your Rabbi! --YM]
