One can easily think of many connections between Tamar and Chanukah.

one- Tamar was a heroic woman. Chanukah is a mitzvah observed specifically
by women(example no work during the time the candles are lit). Another
proof is megillas yehudis.

two-in the time of Yosef being sold, Mashiach was already in the process
of coming into existence. That is why there is a break between the
Mechira; the refuah (Mashiach)was coming.

three-Mashiach ben Yosef and Mashiach be David(Yehuda) were both
mentioned.

four- is that Chanukah is the story of Yehuda HaMAcabi and Gevurah. In
the incident of Yehuda ben Yaakov we see his decline in status.
He did not conquer his Yitzro. Whereas Yehuda Hamacabi was a gibor.

I'm sure there are sources to answer your question but these four just
came to my mind.
