There has been some discussion here of the "Arneves" mentioned in the Torah
and that it is not a ruminant as we know it. Rav Aryeh Kaplan says that an
"arneves" is the "angora rabbit" whose wool is prized and that it can be
considered "to chew its cud" because it regurgitates its food in the early
morning hours and then eats it again. Nothing here about eating its feces.
