Abram to Abraham

My question is this: After G-d told Abram he was no longer Abram, but
Abraham - he stops at once being called Abram in the Torah. However,
Jacob is told he is no longer Jacob, but Israel, and he is referred to by
both names until his death - even by G-d Himself. Why?
