DNA in Halacha

Does anyone know the status of DNA in halacha? Can it be used to declare a
child a mamzer (halachically non legitimate)? Can it be used to establish
paternity? Could a child be declared a Kohen if the parents aren't married
based on DNA tests? I was told that it is used in Israel to identify the
remains of the dead when necessary. Would this mean that it would allow
widows to remarry and not remain agunot (women who can not marry because we
aren't sure if their husband is dead or if he refuses to grant a get)? Has
an actual case come up anywhere and been decided based on DNA samples?
