It is crucial to remember that this is neither a trivial nor a hypothetical
question but a question that can cause a great deal of pain to many
people- the child as well as the adoptive parents. A thoughtless Rabbi told
my son (adopted at birth) not to sit shiva for me when I die. Be careful
with whom you consult.
