In a recent posting, the issue of the seeming inequality of women in
Halacha was raised. I use the word seeming because that is all this issue
is. Men and women are equal. They each have their own spheres though for
them to excel in. Does it bother me that I am not mechuyav [obligated] to
wear a tallis or tefillin? No, I look at it that women are excited to do
mitzvot. We want to do all these mitzvot but Hashem does not want us to.
This is just something we must accept. Just like Hashem does not want men
to carry children, certain mitzvot Hashem does not want us to do.
