My apologies for the misdirection. But I am sure I did not dream that
mishnaic statement up. Can anyone supply the real quote? What I
remember is something along the lines of: IF you don't have an earthly
reward for charity, you will have a heavenly one instead. Or else:
Accepting an earthly reward for charity decreases the heavenly reward.
Presumably I proving correct another teaching, which states that not
always reviewing one's learning leads to its loss. And, no, I am not
going to try to give the source for that one! :)
