As another piece on Bill Bickel's posting in August in regards to the
sacrifice of Isaac--

Our Rabbi always takes the time to give a little D'var Torah before the
Torah reading at Rosh Hashanah which speaks of the binding and sacrifice of
Isaac. For many years, he has brought up to us the fact that there are a
number of characters in the story who do not get mentioned. For one, Sarah.
Just think--a woman has a son in old age and finds that her husband is about
to sacrifice her only child to prove something to G-d. The conversation
must have been something along the lines of "What are you, MESHUGANAH? I
have only this one child, and you're taking him WHERE to do WHAT?"
Consider, also, the two men or boys that went with Abraham and Isaac. What
must THEY have been thinking? It begins to take on a deeper meaning the
story leaves out(except by inference) these very important people. So, what
do YOU think?
