It gets a little cramped because of tables and chairs that are in the
way of the processional, but what I found has disturbed me until this
day. What happened was that there were people who shoved and pushed
their way through and were also cutting the line to make sure that they
got their seven circuits in! These were seemingly pious people, who
commit to coming to services every day. It seems to me that they lost
sense of what the overguiding mission of being a true Torah Jew is.
Plainly put, I think it was Hillel who said don't do unto others as you
wouldn't want others to do unto you.
Therefore, can anyone explain to me how there are so many people who
slight their neighbor in order to perform mitzvot?
