Pat Hoon asked about a Menorah -
The candles have to be in a straight line (Shulchan Aruch, Orech Chaim
671:4, Rem'a). While this is primarily saying that the candles may not be
positioned in a circle, curve or zigzag, Kitzur Shulchan Aruch, Chayei
Adam and Shulchan Shlomo all say that this means that one candle may not
be higher than another, as well.
