The kitzur Shulchan Oruch 96:14 writes as follows: A person who already
recited Havdalah may, nevertheless, recite the prayer again for the sake of
his sons who have already reached the age when they are trained to do
Mitzvos. Surely for the sake of a person past the age of majority to enable
him to fulfill his obligation. This applies only when these individuals do
not know how to recite Havdalah themselves. If they know how to recite
Havdalah themselves, they should do so. (English translation taken from the
Kitzur by Rabbi Eliyahu Touger)
