Haim Citron has inquired about whether the ostrich could be considered
kosher. My understanding is that the animal could be kosher but it cannot
be prepared in a kosher manner. This may be similar to the giraffe which
is definitely a kosher animal; however, we cannot eat it because the
shochet does not know where to slaughter on the neck. Can't help on penguins.
