In response to the question about the permissibility of non-kosher fish food,
I believe that if a pet food is clearly labeled, or shaped as food for
animals, than it is permissible to keep it in the home and feed it to one's
pets. The exception to this rule would be a food containing a mixture of
milk and meat products. I have heard that the prohibitions of non-kosher
food relate to possession of it or continued handling of it (as in working
in a non-kosher deli or factory etc.), not to touching it. Anyone who may be
in this situation should consult a Rabbi.

With regard to nevailah (dead animals) it says clearly, "Lakelev tashlichu"
(throw it to the dog...)
