Jewish History: Biblical History: The Reconciliation of Brothers:

Were Isaac and Ishmael reconciled? What about Jacob and Esau?

The Midrash deduces that Ishmael "reformed" from the fact that he gave precedence to Isaac at the burial of Abraham (Gen.25:9). Jacob and Esau had an apparently friendly meeting when Jacob came back from Aram (Gen.33:1-12); but Esau still took the lead when Isaac was buried (Gen.35:29), implying that he still felt that the birthright belonged to him.
