The Basics of Judaism: Messiah and the Next World (including Reward & Punishment): The World to Come:

After our redemption from the exile (galus), will we be in paradise (gan eden)?

"Redemption" generally refers to the arrival of the Messiah. According to Maimonides (and the Talmud in Berochos 34b and Sanhedrin 91b), in the time of the Messiah the world will be much as it is today except that the Jews will have a king who will conquer the land of Israel and rebuild the Temple. The "world to come" (olam ha-ba) is a later period, after the resurrection of the dead, which will differ from today's world in many ways; in some respects it may resemble gan eden. Even the prophets have not described the World to Come (Talmud, Berachos 34b); "the eye has not seen" (Isaiah 64:3).
