Yavan - the Ionians (Greeks). His sons were Elisha (Hellas),
Tarshish (the Etruscans, called "Tyrsennians" in Greek),
Kittim (island dwellers; see Num.24:24), and Dodanim (the
Dardanelles?).
Tuval - mentioned in Isaiah 66:19 with Javan, and in Ezekiel
with Javan and Meshech (27:13), Meshech (32:36), Magog and
Meshech (38:2-3, 39:1).
Meshech - the Muscovites.
Tiras - the Russians.
