Jewish History: Biblical History: Baruch ben Neriah:

Who was Baruch ben Neriah?

Baruch ben Neriah functioned as Jeremiah's secretary. When Jeremiah was imprisoned, Baruch wrote out Jeremiah's prophecies and read them to the people in the Temple, but when he afterwards read them to the nobles, the king saw them and destroyed them. Baruch also kept the bill of sale that Jeremiah wrote for his uncle's field (32:12-14), and Jeremiah addressed a prophecy to him in Ch.45. After Gedaliah's assassination, Baruch went to Egypt with Jeremiah (43:6).
