If as PETA claims we are all the same why dont we see animals doing some of the more 'moraless' things we do?For example the mistreatment of their offspring.I have yet to see apes running an abortion clinic.McVeigh was a man making choices like the rest of us.I have over the years counselled and dealt with many people as a foster parent etc and they have often realised that they can make choices for change them selves some have even refused to change. It all has lead me to reafirm the Genesis view of man ie;G-ds view which is the only sound one going. As Jeremiah said 'the heart of man is incredibly corupt who can comprehend it.

Think what you will of the PETA and McVeigh situation, but this whole argument is silly. Should we serve G-d in the same way that animals serve human beings? Does that mean G-d should torture, burn, smash, poison and electocute us because supposedly we "serve" our Creator? This is what humans do to animals, and an atrocity is still an atrocity, regardless. Let's lighten up on the "intellectual" or "reasoned" religious arguments intended to justify maltreatment of animals. The answer is not to be found in polemics but rather in making the connection between "service" and a heart filled with love and compassion for those "above" or "below" us.
