Thank you for publishing this article. I found it to be very insightful, using the sources in a deeper way that is very helpful on many levels. The lesson of learning from our suffering is very important, and very timely, given the situation in Israel. I would just like to add that in addition to learning from pain, it is important to learn from the joy that Hashem gives us in our lives, that joy is not only a gift on its own, but also contains a message for our growth and continued closeness to Hashem. Thus, if one is in a joyous period, one should not take it lightly but rather look for avenues of spiritual growth that can be explored only when one is in that state. -0/8-/2002
